Role: Finance Lead
Location: Edinburgh
Fantastic opportunity to join this leading Financial Services Institution based in Edinburgh City Centre.
Key responsibilities for the Finance Lead Role:
Ensure integrity with the design principles, levels of ambition, Key Design Decisions, Target Operating Model, chosen options and delivery of benefits as signed off through the Full Business Case
Ensure consistency in design across business units where this is necessary across all functional areas but with a particular focus on finance related issues
Define and ensure compliance to minimum standards across the work packages and ensure compliance with existing architecture standards
Help ensure compliance with the emerging Solvency II requirements
Own the relevant relationship and links to inter dependencies arising through other change activity across the Insurance Division and the Group as a whole Provide validation, quality control, assurance and sign off of the detailed design and implementation across the Insurance Division, through the various work packages
Ensure delivery of the design in accordance with the roadmap and implementation plan, in conjunction with the PMO
Provide appropriate support to stakeholder management and communication activities
Contribute to internal and external liaison activities, particularly with Group and the FSA respectively
Key skills required for the Finance Lead Role:
Qualified and experienced accountant with knowledge across a range of finance related issues and a good understanding of the processes and workings of insurance companies
Knowledge of Solvency II regulations would be beneficial, CEIOPS advice and FSA publications would also be an advantage
Ability to thrive on project based work with fixed deadlines and a flexible programme environment
Pragmatic approach to problem solving
Ability to work with other project staff in multiple locations
Clear communication and leadership skills to drive consistent view and understanding across Business Units
Ability to work in multi-disciplinary and contribute to a high performing team
Good stakeholder management skills and able to form strong business unit relationships
Excellent documentation skills, enabling accurate, concise reports, submissions and documentation
High levels of personal confidence, credibility, professionalism and integrity
