Automotive Electrical Design Engineer – Vehicle Electrical / Electronic Control Systems / PLC based systems – ZUKEN 3D / Solidworks (or similar) – Permanent – Scotland / Scottish Borders.
Profile: Leading automotive vehicle modifications company currently requires an Electrical Design Engineer to work on a Permanent basis in the Western Scotland / Scottish Borders area. Working across a wide range of vehicles and automotive products, specifying and designing vehicle Electrical & Electronic upgrades and modifications, Control Systems and PLC based systems, you will be responsible for Design from concept through to CAD design and customer acceptance, in a diverse and challenging role.
The Role: You will be a skilled and experienced Automotive Electrical / Electronic / Control Systems Design Engineer, able to progress wit a design from initial customer specification through to integration of equipment, power budgets, block diagrams, circuit diagrams, product trials, component selection, harness drawings, control box assemblies, BOM generation, internal design reviews, customer liaison, commissioning, and through to final acceptance.
You should be familiar with the workings of automotive control systems, and ladder logic programming for new designs, upgrades and fault finding, and ideally will have experience of Omron or IMO PLC's or similar.
You should be experienced with a CAD Electrical Design package such as Solidworks, ZUKEN 3D or similar, although any specific training can be provided.
Requirements:
•Previous Automotive Electrical / Electronic / Control System Design experience.
•Qualified – HND / Degree / Professional Membership.
•Experience of 110V & 240V electrical design and installation an advantage.
•Certification to 16th or 17th edition wiring regulations would be an advantage.
•PLC experience, ideally programming with OMRON / IMO or similar.
•Experience with Electrical CAD packages such as Solidworks or ZUKEN 3D.
•FMEA Experience advantageous.
