Mechanical Engineer – Managing In-House and Outsourced design and Integration Teams - Pro-Engineer – Rugged Cabled Accessories – Plastic Moulded Electronics Enclosures & Packaging – Electronic / Electro Mechanical Products - 3 Month Contract – Cambridgeshire - £30.00 phr.
Profile: Leading Electronics product manufacturer currently has a requirement to recruit for a Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer to work on a 3 month contract based in Cambridgeshire, in a role involving sub-contract management for outsourced development programmes, and technical design & verification skills for in-house development, working across the full project development lifecycle, from technical specification through to design and verification, and on to product integration and mass production.
The Role: You will be a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer, working in a dynamic team, responsible for Managing In-House and Outsourced design and Integration Teams, Technical Design & Specification of products, sub-contractor and supplier selection, liaison and management, producing detailed design and test documentation, definition of product testing and acceptance criteria, analysing and reviewing test results and specifications, and resolving in-house and sub-contractor Design and Integration issues.
Essential Requirements: - You MUST have experience of ALL of the following:
•Qualified to BSc, MSc, BEng or similar in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
•Have 4+ years of relevant experience.
•Pro-Engineer CAD Design experience.
•Experience of creating Technical Specifications and Practical Test Processes.
•Design and Testing of Cabled Accessories and Enclosures.
•Design of rugged systems for use in environmental conditions including water ingress conditions up to IPx7.
•Excellent MS Word & Excel Skills.
In Addition, the following skills are Desirable, although not essential:
•Plastic Injection Moulding experience.
•Elastomer Overmoulding.
•Materials Technology.
•Telecommunications rlated design.
•Safety Approvals.
•Warranty & Service Agreements.
