Our client is one of the major utilities companies in Scotland and they currently have a position for a Risk Technician to join their team in Glasgow.
Main Purpose of the role:
The role interfaces with all Customer operations and internal/external service providers to ensure that all work is planned and prioritised in accordance with business critical rules, mitigating business risk and maximising plan attainment in view of costs (budget, fines incurred, etc), customer satisfaction, OPA, and reputation.
Key Accountabilities/Tasks:
To manage the exceptions not planned by the Advanced Scheduling tool to mitigate any risk to Overall Performance Assessment score.
Plan notices to ensure that no Fixed Penalty Notices are served through failure to comply with the appropriate legislation, this relates to notices under section 113, 114, 116 and 129. Liaising with Roads Authorities and contractors as necessary.
To ensure customer expectations are managed by assessing all works against the customer escalations process, taking account of any previous deferrals to prioritise the works.
To implement, resource and manage Risk Based Maintenance Strategy by creating and implementing maintenance plans that maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of available resources and Assets, paying great attention to the businesses critical assets in particular.
To co-ordinate the provision of comprehensive work packs for all planned work activities including site specific hazards, risk assessments, traffic management proposals, utility information, customer requirements and impact on operational activity.
To manage the interfaces with Customer Operations and Framework contractors ensuring effective working relationship at all times by managing the operational plans and ensuring exceptions are dealt with whilst liaising with internal and external service providers, resulting in plans being delivered on time, within budget.
To co-ordinate, audit and monitor work activities completed by internal/external service providers and report on performance to local teams, ensuring value for money, and giving visibility to all internal sections of programmes of work. (e.g. Customer Service Centre, Customer Operations, Contracting, etc.)
Manage the system to ensure all Health & Safety requirements are met, taking account of access permits, asbestos information, utility hazards, risk assessments, confined spaces, COSHH materials and substances, etc.
