| Job Description |
An excellent opportunity has arisen to join my Client, based in Edinburgh, as a Test Development Hardware Engineer. You will work as part of the overall Test Development team to define and develop robust and flexible hardware solutions to match product developments for testing in a production environment.
The hardware being developed ranges from new high-speed capture solutions, test boards, test systems and cabling.
Validation and verification of new developments before rolling out to customers are essential.
Engineer will also be expected to support the product engineer teams around the world and to manage hardware distribution and returns between sites.
The role involves:
Hardware Development - test system development, verification testing, PCB Design
Hardware Support - Enhancements, user support, distribution and returns.
Hardware re-work - board debug, failure analysis and repair.
This is primarily a hardware role but some software skills would be advantageous.
Key Skills and Experience:
Strong HW design and debug skills. Analog, digital and FPGA sesign
Previous experience of schematic capture tools (eg. DxDesigner)
Good communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with S/W scripting languages
Ability to multiplex tasks and work under pressure.
Self Motivated
Additional Skills and Experience:
Experience of semiconductor production flow
Familiarity with IC test techniques would be a benefit
Knowledge of PADS layout tools would be an advantage
Familiat with python scripting
