Scottish Recruitment Agency First To Offer Job Hunters Online Matchmaking
10/01/2006 10:01:00

An Edinburgh based recruitment agency has become the first of its kind to take the concept of online dating and use it to match job seekers with their ideal vocation.

Recruitment Zone is the first Scottish firm to adopt an online CV service called iProfile, which is set to make the job hunting process less painful. iProfile offers a standardised format which allows candidates to enter and update their details within minutes.

The system has already proved to be a hit south of the border, with more than 1˝million candidates already well-versed in its benefits. This has led to it quickly being adopted by the UK’s leading recruitment companies as the industry standard format for online CVs.

With the average agency receiving 3,000 CVs each week, the introduction of the iProfile is great news for candidates in Scotland, according to Lisa Kwiecinska, Director of Recruitment Zone.

“Everyone has clear ideas about what they look for in a partner, and when it comes to online dating the search can involve sifting through literally hundreds of profiles. To ensure that your profile has the desired effect it has to be up to date and presented in straightforward language and format.

“The logic works just as well for posting an online vocational CV. iProfile provides a standard format for setting out a person’s skills, qualifications and experiences, which is going to make matching a person to a job much easier and quicker.

“I think we will see iProfile universally adopted in Scotland and, for candidates, it can’t come soon enough. Traditional CVs are created in so many different formats that it slows the process down and quickly leads to outdated information.

“The iProfile brings together a candidate’s information and their job preferences in a format that allows them to be efficiently and effectively matched to suitable jobs.

“As far as we are concerned, the quicker this part of the process happens, the better. It allows us to move more quickly to the stage of the recruitment process that we feel adds most value, which is a actually speaking with candidates and working with them to secure their desired job.”

The iProfile also provides candidates with a central place to store their career information and can be easily updated, avoiding one of the pitfalls of the traditional CV, which usually requires a re-write with every new skill.

Lisa added: “This is a momentous step forward and has benefits for both candidates and agencies.

“The latter will no longer have to chase the status of candidates as through the iProfile they can indicate whether or not they are currently looking for a new job.”
