Frequently Asked Questions

Will I be able to get a contract close to home?
Again, a significant number of contractors work very close to their home town and are earning significantly more than they would do in an equivalent permanent position. It is highly likely that you will have to move away from home for short periods of time to do 3 or 6 month assignments. However there are many contractors that have been working on client sites close to home for the last 7 years.

Do I need a Limited Company?
A Limited company is not essential and Recruitment Zone do supply contractors who operate on a PAYE basis, or via their own personal service company. Candidates should notify Recruitment Zone of the basis on which they wish to operate so the relevant contract and processes can be put in place. If you are uncertain about the best arrangements for yourself and your specific situation you should seek financial advice on the issue and the companies illustrated below may be of interest to you in discussing the various options available.

Accounts, Timesheets and Payment Terms

Recruitment Zone makes Bank Giro Credit payments to Temporary Workers and Contractors on the following payment cycles:

PAYE workers will be paid weekly on receipt of timesheet.

Limited Company Contractors can be paid on either of the following cycles:

  1. Payment will leave Recruitment Zone Ltd 21 days from receipt of invoice and weekly timesheet and be in the Suppliers account 2 working days later. Payment will fall into a weekly cycle on condition that invoices are received at weekly intervals.
    Payment will leave Recruitment Zone Ltd monthly, 7 days from receipt of invoice and monthly timesheet and be in the Suppliers account 2 working days later.
  2. We would like to point out that a month is now a calendar month and is from the 1st to the 31st inclusive. We cannot accept invoices that are for split months or more than one calendar month.

Our accounts function is very efficient and all payments are set up and executed automatically. It is very rare that a payment is late due to an error at our end. When calculating the above please take into account delays due to postage and bank processing delays between our respective accounts.
